An Amazing Get Away

Our family has stayed at Getaway Place a number times. We have rented cottages on the Banks from Corolla to Avon many times. Without a doubt Getaway Place's owners have thought of everything. Little signs that tell you which light is controlled by which switch. A well written book on how various equipment in the house can be operated. Beach equipment, bikes, kitchen grills for pancakes, 2 dishwashers, and on and on.

Without a doubt it's one of the very best on the beach.

A Wonderful Week in Corolla

Great house! We had a wonderful week in spite of the 104 degree high on Wednesday. The house is very comfortable with lots of little toys and amenities to keep everyone happy.

"A beautiful home in a perfect location!"

My family and I rented Getaway Place in June 2006. We had never stayed in a beach house. This was a new experience for us and I will have to say it was the best "Family" vacation we have ever spent together. There were eight adults and three children.

Everything was very accessible for my brother Brian who is in a wheelchair. The Palm Tree room worked out great for him. Brian is very independent and had no problem transferring himself to the tub. He's the type of person that could make anything work for him. He enjoyed everything that we did. He had plenty of room to get through the gate at the pool area and enjoyed the pool. My family's main focus was finding something that was wheelchair accessible and Getaway Place worked out perfectly. We were able to use a Beach wheelchair from the Corolla Fire Dept. for the week (free of charge). He actually went to the beach area (this was a first).

I could go on and on about this vacation. It was truly a very memorable vacation for me and my family and we will cherish it forever. You have a beautiful home and it's in the perfect location. Everything was very convenient. It is nice having a Food Lion & shopping center so close by!!!

One other thing, we ventured up the 4 wheel drive area on Wednesday night and we saw 12 wild horses. It was beautiful. The next group went the following night and they saw 28 wild horses. It was amazing.

Hopefully, we will be able to return to Getaway Place sometime in the future. We lucked into renting it this past week at a great price, It was like it was meant for us to come down!

Thanks again for letting me and my family share in your family vacation home. It was an unforgettable vacation. I've been vacationing in Myrtle Beach since I was a little girl; it was nice going somewhere different. At Myrtle Beach there is SO much to do that you feel like you're on the go all the time. This vacation at Corolla was laid back and we were able to relax and enjoy being together.
